My dream oatmeal meal.
Every Tuesday and Thursday because I have no class on those days, I wake up early to cook an elaborate breakfast for my boyfriend and me. I love oatmeal plain with brown sugar; however, my boyfriend takes about 25 minutes to finish his bowl. It is painful to watch him eat oatmeal, whether it’s with fruit, granola, or brown sugar/cinnamon. I decided to take a more savory route and add all of the things he loves to eat. I should just start a food tumblr because that’s all mine has become lately.
This breakfast was 1 cup of old-fashioned rolled oats (gluten-free), one sunny-side up egg (the runny yolk creates a great consistency), sauteed kale in garlic and olive oil, sliced Chinese sausage, and dried pork (rousong), coarse salt and cracked pepper. I drizzled toasted sesame oil and a teaspoon of soy sauce for that extra flavor. Rough estimate of calories: 325 calories.
